Basketball Recap: New Garden Friends Has No Trouble Against Cresset Christian Academy

New Garden Friends's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They blew past the Cresset Christian Academy Eagles 57-31. The Bears have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

New Garden Friends found their leader in sophomore Kingston Clifton, who posted 22 points. Clifton has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 11 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Curtis Russell, who scored 12 points.

New Garden Friends smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Cresset Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jaylen Cotton, who put up 11 points. David Eckel was another key player, putting up eight points.

New Garden Friends' win bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Cresset Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.

New Garden Friends will be playing in front of their home fans against Crossroads Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Crossroads Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully New Garden Friends likes a good challenge. Cresset Christian Academy has already played their next matchup (against Wake County Academy HomeSchool), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
