Football Recap: Malden Comes Up Short

Malden and Portageville squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Malden had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a 61-0 loss at the hands of the Bulldogs. The defeat continues a trend for the Green Wave in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost seven in a row.

Malden's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Portageville, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Malden does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Portageville, they will square off against Charleston at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will be up against the Bluejays' rather soft defense (which has allowed 26.89 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
