Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Cerritos walked away with it. They walked away with a 50-42 win over the Burroughs Burros on Wednesday. The victory was familiar territory for the Dons, who have now won eight matchups in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Burroughs lost, don't look at Jhavmine Ave. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds. Ave has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 21 times she's played. Estrella Ruiz Zamorano was another key player, putting up four points and eight boards.

Cerritos' win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-15. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.5 points over those games. As for Burroughs, their loss dropped their record down to 17-9.

Coming up, Cerritos will host Culver City at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Culver City will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Cerritos surely won't give up without a fight. Burroughs does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
