Valley View kept a clean sheet against Poly on Monday. They had just enough and edged the Poly Bears out 1-0. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 67th, while the Bears are ranked 343rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Valley View's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-1-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 32 goals over those nine games. As for Poly, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-7-6 record.

Valley View will head out to square off against Liberty at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Poly, they will look to defend their home pitch on Friday against Arlington at 6:30 p.m. Arlington will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Poly surely won't give up without a fight.
