St. Augustine gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They breezed past the Palatka Panthers to the tune of 41-0. Given the Yellow Jackets' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 25th, while the Panthers are ranked 213th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Brenton James went supernova, throwing for 191 yards and three TDs, while also punching in one touchdown on the ground. St. Augustine also got help from Julio Santiago, who showed off his sure hands for 106 receiving yards.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Augustine will host Menendez at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Palatka, they will welcome Baldwin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
