Baseball Recap: Edison Tech Comes Up Short

Edison Tech extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping them down to 5-12. They lost 16-1 to Greece Olympia/Greece Odyssey. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Greece Olympia/Greece Odyssey this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 22-7 back in April.

As for Greece Olympia/Greece Odyssey, they pushed their record up to 11-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games.

For Greece Olympia/Greece Odyssey's part, they let Peyton Penna and Tyler Ashton run wild. Penna got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one double, while Ashton went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs Penna has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Juliun Carter, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Looking ahead, Edison Tech will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Greece Olympia at 10:00 a.m. As for Greece Olympia/Greece Odyssey, they will face off against Gates Chili at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
