Football Recap: Southmoore Takes a Loss

Southmoore managed to slip by Piedmont the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The SaberCats came up short against the Wildcats on Thursday, falling 41-19. The SaberCats were down 41-11 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Southmoore's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Piedmont, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Southmoore will face off against rival Putnam City at 7:00 p.m. on the 31st. Meanwhile, Piedmont is set to take on their familiar foe Stillwater at 7:00 p.m. on the 31st. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Wildcats 12.8, the Pioneers 9) so any points scored will be well earned.
