Soccer Game Preview: Summerville vs. Big Valley Christian

The Summerville Bears will head out on the road to challenge the Big Valley Christian Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Summerville will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

Summerville's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Linden with a sharp 3-0 win. Give the Bears' defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Jaxie Johnson and Emmie Higgins scored all three of Summerville's goals, bringing their combined season tally to six goals.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last contest, Big Valley Christian made sure to put some goals up on the board against Riverbank on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Bruins as they made off with a 5-1 victory. Considering the Lions have won four matchups by more than three goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Summerville pushed their record up to 8-6-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four games. As for Big Valley Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3-1 record this season.

Everything went Summerville's way against Big Valley Christian in their previous matchup on January 9th, as Summerville made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Summerville since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
