Football Recap: Carlsbad Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Carlsbad's game on Friday was all tied up 7-7 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They and the Centennial Hawks were almost perfectly matched up, but the Cavemen/Cavegirls suffered a 21-20 defeat. The loss continues a trend for the Cavemen/Cavegirls in their meetings with the Hawks: they've now lost nine in a row.

Carlsbad lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was ROBERT CASTANEDA, who picked up 121 receiving yards and two scores. He really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 83 yards. MARLEY MUNOZ was another key player, throwing for 192 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Carlsbad now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Centennial, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carlsbad will take on Clovis at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Centennial, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Alamogordo at 7:00 p.m. on October 2.
