Soccer Recap: Westview's Run of Four Straight Wins Now Over

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Westview couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the San Marcos Knights by a score of 2-1 on Wednesday. The match was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but the Wolverines couldn't quite close it out.

Their goal came courtesy of Maya Calderon, which was the first she's scored this season.

The defeat snapped Westview's winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 12-6 record. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four games. As for San Marcos, they pushed their record up to 17-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Westview will head out to take on Granada Hills Charter at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Granada Hills Charter will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Westview surely won't give up without a fight. As for San Marcos, they wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Bonita Vista on the 1st.
