Softball Recap: North Cobb Christian Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Wins at Home + How To Watch

North Cobb Christian dropped to 6-8 on Monday, ending the team's eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They came up short against the Sonoraville Phoenix, falling 14-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Phoenix this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-0 back in August.

As for Sonoraville, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games.

For Sonoraville's part, Lila Mullinax tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Mullinax has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Sonoraville let Keegan Angel and Katelyn Redd run wild. Angel went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles, while Redd went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave Angel a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cadence Mulkey, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.
