Baseball Recap: Camden Catholic Comes Up Short

Camden Catholic lost to Collingswood back in May of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Fighting Irish fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 3-2.

Chase Wolk spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Reece Murphy made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Camden Catholic has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-21 record this season. As for Collingswood, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-12.

Camden Catholic and Collingswood could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings. The Fighting Irish (ranked 278th) will meet Bishop Eustace Prep (ranked third) at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Collingswood will take on Schalick at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank disadvantage (252 vs. 99).
