Softball Recap: Alburnett's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

It was a good run, but Alburnett unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Johnston Dragons. If the Pirates were looking for revenge after losing 7-0 to the Dragons when the teams met back in June of 2017, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Alburnett's loss dropped their record down to 22-8. As for Johnston, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season.

Alburnett didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-5 defeat against Durant on the 27th. As for Johnston, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 11-3 victory against Fort Dodge on the 28th.
