Baseball Recap: Franklin Towne Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Franklin Towne, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Nueva Esperanza with a sharp 17-1 win on Thursday. The Warriors have beaten Nueva Esperanza the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest Nueva Esperanza has come to flipping the script.

Daniel LaSalle looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and not a single walk). He has become a key player for Franklin Towne: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most two hits, but 1-2 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Franklin Towne got a massive performance out of Jayden Ocasio, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those RBI were Ocasio's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaedyn Sanchez, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Franklin Towne always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .621. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Nueva Esperanza only posted an OBP of .250.

The victory got Franklin Towne back to even at 3-3. As for Nueva Esperanza, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7.

Franklin Towne didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-7 win against MAST Community Charter on the 14th. As for Nueva Esperanza, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 12-2 loss against Philadelphia Academy Charter on the 23rd.
