Fort Sumner/House had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They took down the Melrose Buffaloes 28-14 on Friday. Fort Sumner/House's victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Jordan Holland was his usual excellent self, rushing for 73 yards and three touchdowns, while also throwing for 207 yards and one TD while completing 80% of his passes. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing two fumbles and making 14 total tackles. 131 of Holland's passing yards were hauled in by Tra'Von Bonds.

Another reason for the win was Fort Sumner/House's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for 3.5 sacks. Leading the way was Larry Roybal with two. He is on a roll when it comes to sacks, as he's now posted at least one in each of the last seven games he's played.

Fort Sumner/House's win bumped their record up to 11-0. As for Melrose, they moved to 10-3 with that defeat, which also ended their ten-game winning streak.
