Baseball Recap: Bonduel Victorious

Bonduel lost to Amherst back in April, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Bears skirted past the Falcons 4-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bears.

Beckett Hartlaben made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed four innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Hartlaben was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last eight games he's played.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jack Zernicke, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Bonduel's record now sits at 17-5. As for Amherst, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 16-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bonduel will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Coleman at 4:30 p.m. on June 2. As for Amherst, they will take on Wautoma at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
