Softball Recap: Jeff Davis Extends Road Winning Streak to Three

Jeff Davis had won three straight on the road, but on Saturday they bumped up to 16-5 to make it four. They came out on top against the Worth County Rams by a score of 6-2. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 7-3 victory on Saturday.

As for Worth County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-13. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by exactly four runs.

For Worth County's part, Molly Williford spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits.

At the plate, Laurie Pritchard was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Jeff Davis will challenge rival Bacon County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Yellowjackets 3.8, the Raiders 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Worth County is set to square off against their familiar foe Brantley County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
