Basketball Recap: West Comes Up Short

West lost against Foothill two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The West Vikings took a 45-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Foothill Trojans.

Leading Foothill to victory were Marihya Portis and Jayda Green. Portis dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 boards, while Green dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds. Portis is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Isabel Garza was another key player, putting up ten points and four steals.

West dropped their record down to 5-8 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Foothill, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-6.

West will face off against Tehachapi at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Foothill, they will square off against Del Oro at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
