Columbus scored the most runs they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They came up short against the Auburn Tigers, falling 18-5. The loss continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now lost five in a row.

RJ Griffin was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). David Vega also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Columbus' defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Auburn, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Columbus didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-1 loss against Brookstone on the 20th. As for Auburn, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Tigers face off against the Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
