Baseball Game Preview: Northside Patriots vs. Carrollton Trojans

The Northside Patriots will face off against the Carrollton Trojans at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.

Northside is returning to their home field after beating Central on theirs, despite the fact Central has dominated at home this season. The Patriots came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lions on Thursday, sneaking past 4-3.

Chris Biggs made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in 11 consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March.

Biggs wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cayden Clay, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Carrollton got the win against Chapel Hill on Friday by a conclusive 16-1. Considering the Trojans have won 15 games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Carrollton's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-9. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Northside, their win bumped their record up to 22-7.
