Softball Recap: Fairview Knights vs. Mead Mavericks

Fairview had lost 16 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped down to 7-12 to make it 17. They fell just short of the Mead Mavericks by a score of 12-11. If the Knights were looking for revenge after losing 11-7 to the Mavericks when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Julia Savage made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Dangott, who went 3-for-5 with two doubles.

As for Mead, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-10. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since August 22nd.

On Mead's side, Rosie Robuck made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over 4.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts Robuck has posted since back in September of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-5 with one home run and four RBI.

In other batting news, Mead let Halie Gippe and Zoey Hawkinson run wild. Gippe went 4-for-6 with three runs and one RBI, while Hawkinson went 2-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Those four hits gave Gippe a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ari Tovar, who got on base in five of her seven plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
