Basketball Recap: Waterford Wildcats vs. Denair Coyotes
The Waterford Wildcats were the 38-35 winner over the Denair Coyotes when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Waterford lost to the Coyotes on the road by a decisive 57-39 margin on Wednesday.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sadie Boone, who scored ten points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Karina De La Torre, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Denair to victory, but perhaps none more so than Piper Northcutt, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 rebounds. Northcutt is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games she's played. Macie Stucker was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with two steals.
Waterford's loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Denair, their win bumped their record up to 8-16.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Waterford will take on the Reds at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Gustine focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 last Monday. As for Denair, they will be playing at home against the Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
