Basketball Game Preview: Moreno Valley Vikings vs. Sage Hill Lightning

The Moreno Valley Vikings will head out on the road to square off against the Sage Hill Lightning at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Moreno Valley is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They blew past St. Joseph 78-54.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Sage Hill, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They took their contest on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 65-34 win over Westchester. The victory was some much needed relief for the Lightning as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Sage Hill's win was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-11. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.4 points over those games. As for Moreno Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 18 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-7 record this season.

Moreno Valley came up short against Sage Hill when the teams last played back in November of 2024, falling 73-64. Can Moreno Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
