Soccer Game Preview: Corona vs. Roosevelt

Corona is 0-10 against Roosevelt since January of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The Corona Panthers will face off against the Roosevelt Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Corona fell victim to Centennial and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They came up short against the Huskies, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 404th, while the Huskies are ranked 188th).

Meanwhile, Roosevelt and Norco finished up their matchup with a 1-1 draw on Wednesday.

Roosevelt's goal came courtesy of Siena Salazar, who's now up to seven this season.

Roosevelt's draw makes their record 12-3-4 this season. As for Corona, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6-2.

Corona suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Roosevelt when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Corona avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
