Basketball Recap: Maxwell Takes a Loss

If Maxwell was riding high fresh off their 49-14 takedown of Williams last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Maxwell Panthers were outmatched by the Quincy Trojans and fell 71-19. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, with their most recent loss being a 62-11 defeat back in January.

Despite the loss, Maxwell saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ruby Herrera posted ten points.

It was another big night for Shelby Nussle, who dropped a double-double with 26 points and ten boards for Quincy. Another player making a difference was Skylar McCarthy, who earned four points along with 11 rebounds, six assists, and five steals.

Maxwell's defeat dropped their record down to 3-19. As for Quincy, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.

Maxwell didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 58-13 loss against Biggs on the 11th. As for Quincy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 65-10 win against Williams on the 11th.
