Softball Recap: Iberia Gets the Win

Iberia won against Dixon on Thursday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Rangers beat the Osage Indians by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 8-1. The Rangers haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Paylyn DeVore spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kya Yoakum, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in October of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kily McElroy, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

The victory got Iberia back to even at 3-3. As for Osage, they dropped their record down to 3-4 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Iberia will head out to square off against Newburg at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Osage, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Hallsville at 5:00 p.m. The last three games Hallsville has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
