Softball Game Preview: Davis County Mustangs vs. Albia Blue Demons

The Davis County Mustangs will square off against the Albia Blue Demons at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Davis County sitting on four straight victories and Albia on 18.

While Davis County's win against Clarke wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Mustangs' pitchers stepped up to hand the Indians a 2-0 shutout on Friday.

Meanwhile, Albia's hitters rose to the challenge against a Wildcats pitching crew that boasted an average of only 3.61 runs allowed on Saturday. The Blue Demons blew past Durant 10-0. The result was nothing new for the Blue Demons, who have now won 12 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Albia's victory was their 13th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-0. As for Davis County, their win bumped their record up to 11-6.
