The Ralston Rams will take on the Yutan-Mead Patriots at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Ralston 2.6, Yutan-Mead 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Ralston turned things around against Platteview on Saturday. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Trojans.

Makenzie Macrander was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 21 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Maddie Ochsner was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last 14 matchups. Maddy Vukov was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Ralston hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive games.
The scorekeeper got an easy start on Monday as neither Yutan-Mead nor Fort Calhoun made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Patriots fell just short of the Pioneers by a score of 3-2.
Jersey Siske spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits.
At the plate, Jordyn Campbell made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Yutan-Mead's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 17-5. As for Ralston, their win bumped their record up to 18-6.
