Basketball Game Preview: Dos Palos Broncos vs. Turlock Christian Eagles

The Dos Palos Broncos will challenge the Turlock Christian Eagles at 12:00 p.m. on Monday.

Dos Palos' tournament run continued when they took on Washington Union two weeks ago. Dos Palos had to suffer through a 47-14 loss at the hands of Washington Union. The contest marked the Broncos' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

While Turlock Christian didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-20), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past Big Valley Christian 44-12 on Monday. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 21 points or more this season.

Turlock Christian's win came from a few key players Dos Palos will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Faith Hayes, who went 9 of 19 on her way to 18 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. She has been hot, having also posted two or more blocks the last seven times she's played. Christiana Eivaz was another key player, putting up six points and 21 rebounds.

Turlock Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in five consecutive games.

Turlock Christian is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Dos Palos, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-8.

Dos Palos was able to grind out a solid win over Turlock Christian when the teams last played back in December of 2023, winning 31-20. Will Dos Palos repeat their success, or does Turlock Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
