Basketball Game Preview: De Anza Dons vs. Vallejo Redhawks

The De Anza Dons will head out to face off against the Vallejo Redhawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. De Anza will come in still looking for their first win of the season.

De Anza is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Kennedy on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. De Anza took a blow against Kennedy, falling 46-4. The Dons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-0.

Meanwhile, Vallejo had to suffer through a 70-29 loss at the hands of American Canyon. While losing is never fun, the Redhawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 951st, while the Wolves are ranked 361st).

De Anza's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Vallejo, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

De Anza took their win against Vallejo when the teams last played back in December of 2021 by a conclusive 58-33. Will De Anza repeat their success, or does Vallejo have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
