Soccer Game Preview: Pleasant Grove vs. Franklin

Pleasant Grove hasn't had much luck against Franklin recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. Pleasant Grove is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games.

Pleasant Grove's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over Cosumnes Oaks. Pleasant Grove's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three matchups.

BoiChan Nguyen-Sanh and Adalynn Alley scored both of Pleasant Grove's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 15 goals.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Franklin). They put the hurt on Monterey Trail with a sharp 6-0 win on Wednesday. Franklin haven't had any issues with Monterey Trail recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Franklin's win bumped their record up to 9-2-3. As for Pleasant Grove, their victory bumped their record up to 14-4-2.

Pleasant Grove came out on top in a nail-biter against Franklin when the teams last played back in January, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
