Football Recap: Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial Takes a Loss

After soaring to 35 points the game before, Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They had to suffer through a 48-0 loss at the hands of the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North Raiders. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Wolverines haven't been shut out since back in August.

Nolan Ramirez threw for 67 yards on four of nine attempts. Vicente Lopez was his top target, picking up 34 receiving yards. On the ground, Joshua Bautista rushed for 28 yards.

Daren Garcia was a one-man wrecking crew For Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North. as he threw for 179 yards and five TDs while completing 77.8% of his passes. Those five passing touchdowns gave Garcia a new career-high. Bryan Guerrero also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.

Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North, the win keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 56-0 defeat against Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial on the 23rd. As for Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 34-7 victory against Weslaco East on the 24th.
