Volleyball Recap: Caileigh Collins and Isabella Cook Secure Win for Walker Valley

There's no place like home for Walker Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Meigs County Tigers on Monday, sneaking past 3-2.

Walker Valley had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 23-25, 25-20, 29-27, 15-10.

Walker Valley was led to victory by Isabella Cook and Caileigh Collins. Cook had seven aces and four digs, while Collins had 35 digs and two aces. Those four digs gave Cook a new career-high. Lily Taylor was another key player, getting ten digs, five kills, and three aces.

They weren't the only good server: Walker Valley was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 19 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in three consecutive games.

Walker Valley's record is now 4-10. As for Meigs County, their loss dropped their record down to 4-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Walker Valley will head out to face off against Howard Tech at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Meigs County, they will venture away from home to challenge Brainerd at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
