Basketball Game Preview: Gar-Field Red Wolves vs. Potomac Senior Panthers

Gar-Field hasn't had much luck against Potomac Senior recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Red Wolves will take on the Panthers in a holiday battle at 7:30 p.m. Gar-Field knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully Potomac Senior likes a good challenge.

On Saturday, Gar-Field was able to grind out a solid win over Potomac Falls, taking the game 67-60.

Meanwhile, Potomac Senior put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed past Bethel Academy to the tune of 72-45. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Panthers had established a 21-point advantage.

Potomac Senior's win came from a few key players Gar-Field will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Harlem Lyons, who shot 43% from the field en route to 17 points. He also posted a block, marking his first of the season. Dominic Mack was another key player, going 6-for-13 on his way to 17 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Potomac Senior smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Gar-Field's record now sits at 7-0. As for Potomac Senior, their record is now an identical 7-0.

Things could have been worse for Gar-Field, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 59-45 loss to Potomac Senior in their previous meeting back in February. Can the Red Wolves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
