Baseball Recap: Wilmot Victorious

Wilmot came out on top against Fort Atkinson on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run first inning. The Panthers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 win over the Blackhawks. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Jack Dzierzanowski made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Ryan Watson was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last ten matchups.

Wilmot's record now sits at 12-16. As for Fort Atkinson, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-16 record this season.

As of now, neither Wilmot nor Fort Atkinson have any future games scheduled.
