Basketball Recap: Parkway Center City Takes a Loss

After flying high against Constitution last Thursday, Parkway Center City came back down to earth. The Parkway Center City Bulldogs came up short against the Simon Gratz Bulldogs on Wednesday, falling 38-12. Parkway Center City was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Simon Gratz apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Simon Gratz's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zakkiyah Lucas, who posted 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alana Wilkerson, who earned 11 points.

Parkway Center City's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Simon Gratz, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Parkway Center City will face off against Penn Treaty at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Penn Treaty's defense has only allowed 20.8 points per game this season, so Parkway Center City's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Simon Gratz, they and Paul Robeson will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
