Softball Recap: Academy for Classical Education Wins Going Away Against Peach County

Academy for Classical Education won the last time they faced Peach County and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Gryphons put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 7-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Gryphons, who have now won three games by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Sophie Denney, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. Kinsley Lineberger was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

The victory got Academy for Classical Education back to even at 3-3. As for Peach County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Academy for Classical Education will host Northeast at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Peach County, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Westover at 5:30 p.m. The Patriots have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.43 runs per game on average), something the Trojans will no doubt try to take advantage of.
