Basketball Game Preview: Glendale Cardinals vs. Independence Patriots

The Glendale Cardinals will take on the Independence Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Glendale will be strutting in after a win while Independence will be coming in after a defeat.

On Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Glendale beat Sierra Linda 56-51. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cardinals.

Michael Palomino was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 15 rebounds. Those 15 boards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Victor Rodriguez, who posted ten points and six rebounds.

Glendale smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Independence ended up a good deal behind La Joya Community on Friday and lost 60-44. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Independence's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Glendale, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.
