Softball Game Preview: Jenkins Warriors vs. Brunswick Pirates

Jenkins is 0-3 against Brunswick since September of 2015 but things could change on Wednesday. The Warriors will head out to square off against the Pirates at 5:30 p.m. Jenkins has given up an average of 16.5 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Jenkins came up short against East Hall on Friday, falling 17-3.

Jenkins saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ma'Kaiyah Gray, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. Gray is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Jayda Groover was another, earning one run and three stolen bases.

Meanwhile, Brunswick entered their tilt with Liberty County on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Panthers 10-1.

Brunswick's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Jenkins, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Jenkins might still be hurting after the 12-4 loss they got from Brunswick in their previous matchup back in August of 2024. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
