Softball Recap: Wayne Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

Wayne barely beat Pierce the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Blue Devils put the hurt on the Bluejays with a sharp 10-2 victory on Saturday. The win was familiar territory for the Blue Devils, who have now won five games in a row.

Reagan McGuire was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Avree Abler was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one run.

Wayne always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .536. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pierce only posted an OBP of .261.

Wayne's record is now 17-8. As for Pierce, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 14 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-17 record this season.

Coincidentally, Wayne and Pierce will both be playing O'Neill the next time they take the field. The Bluejays will head out to face the Eagles at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Blue Devils will play them later in the day, at 1:15 p.m.
