Basketball Recap: Auti Cabrera Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Sultana

There's no place like home for Linfield Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They took down the Sultana Sultans 58-44 on Friday. For the Lions, this counts as revenge for the 65-33 win the Sultans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Linfield Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Auti Cabrera, who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine boards. Cabrera has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 13 times she's played. Natalie Zaruka was another key player, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Linfield Christian's victory bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Sultana, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Linfield Christian Lions duke it out with the Canyon Springs Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Canyon Springs will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Linfield Christian surely won't give up without a fight. Sultana will take on Kaiser in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
