Beatrice came tearing into Thursday's contest with 18 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Seward Bluejays, sneaking past 4-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-0 back in September.

Layla Boyko spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Beatrice saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jada Berke, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Beatrice hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in seven consecutive matchups.

Beatrice's victory bumped their record up to 27-4. As for Seward, their loss dropped their record down to 11-15.

As of now, neither Beatrice nor the Bluejays have any future games scheduled.
