Softball Game Preview: Lithonia Bulldogs vs. Salem Seminoles

The Lithonia Bulldogs will face off against the Salem Seminoles at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

After dropping their season opener at home, Salem is headed out to face a Bulldogs team ready to give their home crowd a win. Lithonia came up short against Redan on Monday, falling 28-12.

Kayla Washington led a balanced group of hitters, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Nifemi Jayeoba, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Salem had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They lost 15-0 to Rockdale County. The loss continues a trend for the Seminoles in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost seven in a row.

Lithonia took their win against Salem in their previous meeting back in September of 2024 by a conclusive 18-7 score. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Seminoles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
