Basketball Recap: Segerstrom Beats Cypress for Their Fifth Straight Victory + How To Watch

Segerstrom put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 61-52 win over the Cypress Centurions. This was payback for the Jaguars, who suffered a 71-58 loss the last time these two teams met.

Segerstrom's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but April Valenciano led the charge by going 8-for-19 en route to 25 points. With that strong performance, Valenciano is now averaging an impressive 16.6 points per game. Another player making a difference was Abby Quero, who posted 12 points along with seven steals and six assists.

Several Centurions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Leah Shigekawa, who put up 15 points in addition to six boards and five assists. Jazmine Pham also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Segerstrom's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Cypress, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Segerstrom didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 49-38 win against California on the 3rd. As for Cypress, they have also already played their next game, a 50-44 victory against Kennedy on the 8th.
