Soccer Game Preview: Carter vs. St. Lucy's

The Carter Lions and the St. Lucy's Regents will round out the year against one another at at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Carter's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They came out on top against Granite Hills by a score of 2-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

Grace Baeza and Mia Soto scored both of Carter's goals, bringing their combined season tally to four goals.

Meanwhile, St. Lucy's hadn't done well against Claremont recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was St. Lucy's who was credited with the win. St. Lucy's got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to Claremont's one.

Carter has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 17 goals over those five matches. As for St. Lucy's, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1-1.
