Soccer Game Preview: Ardrey Kell vs. Ashley

The Ardrey Kell Knights will take on the Ashley Screaming Eagle at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Ardrey Kell's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Ardrey Kell is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of North Carolina's top teams: Marvin Ridge, who was ranked second at the time (Ardrey Kell was ranked 12th). Ardrey Kell won by a goal and slipped past Marvin Ridge 2-1.

Ellie Riechman was the driving force of Ardrey Kell's attack as she scored both of Ardrey Kell's goals, bringing her season total up to five goals.

Meanwhile, Ashley's undefeated season came to an end after four games on Saturday. Neither they nor T.C. Roberson could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw. The result kept the Screaming Eagle happy, as they haven't lost a game yet this season.

Ashley's draw makes their record 4-0-1 this season. As for Ardrey Kell, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1-2.

Ardrey Kell skirted past Ashley 3-2 in their previous matchup back in June of 2023. Does Ardrey Kell have another victory up their sleeve, or will Ashley turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
