Softball Recap: Poudre Takes a Loss

Poudre was the 16-2 winner over Thornton when they last played one another back in August of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Impalas took a 14-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trojans on Friday.

Kirsten Bennett made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Bennett is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Kennedy Stegeman was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one double.

Poudre now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Thornton, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1.

Looking ahead, Poudre will square off against Northfield at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Thornton, they will face off against Timnath at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
