Volleyball Recap: South Effingham Finds Home Court Redemption Against St. Andrew's

There's no place like home for South Effingham, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the St. Andrew's Lions 2-1. For the Mustangs, this counts as revenge for the 2-1 victory the Lions walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day South Effingham got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 24-26, 15-7.

Lauren Olson was nothing short of spectacular: she had 14 digs and three aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in September of 2024.

The win got South Effingham back to even at 5-5. As for St. Andrew's, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Coincidentally, South Effingham and St. Andrew's will both be playing Southeast Bulloch the next time they take the court. The Lions will host the Yellow Jackets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Mustangs will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
