Volleyball Recap: Eustis Comes Up Short

Eustis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Umatilla Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.

The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-19, 25-14.

Samantha Merrill was a one-woman wrecking crew For Umatilla. as she had 26 digs. Those 26 digs gave Merrill a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Paityn McAuliffe, who had 16 digs and two aces.

Eustis' defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Umatilla, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eustis will head out to take on Altamonte Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Umatilla, they will challenge Wildwood at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
