Baseball Game Preview: Ellet Orangement vs. Chippewa Chipps

The Ellet Orangement will venture away from home to take on the Chippewa Chipps at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ellet is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.

Ellet came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 13-3 to Field. The Orangement have struggled against the Falcons recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Ellet saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brandon Guest, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs. The Orangement are 4-1 when Guest posts two or more runs, but 5-12 otherwise. Evan Dowling was another, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last game, Chippewa made sure to put some runs up on the board against Northwestern on Wednesday. The Chipps blew past the Huskies 10-0. Considering the Chipps have won nine contests by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Chippewa pushed their record up to 16-9 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Ellet, their loss dropped their record down to 9-13.
